What is a referral?

A referral is an approval from an individual's insurance company to receive service from a provider or receive specified service. A referral must be granted prior to rendering of services.


What is an authorization?

An authorization is approval from an individuals insurance company to receive services. An authorization must be granted prior to rendering of services.


How do I refill my prescription?

If you need to refill a prescription please have your pharmacy fax a request to your physician. The physician will approve and fax a confirmation back to your pharmacy. Please allow 48 hours for processing.

Do I receive any discount if I pay cash for my services?

There is a 30% discount granted to patients who pay by cash in full at the time that their services are rendered. This discount is passed on to patients since there is no cost of insurance filing or statement processing.


Can I pay on line for services?

At this present time, you cannot pay online for services, but that is under development.


If I do not see my insurance plan on the list included on this web site, what can I do?

Insurance companies utilize different names under general networks. Just because your insurance plan is not included on the list it does not mean the King's Daughters Clinic physicians are not contracted with your insurance plan. Please check your insurance companies web site or call the number on the back of your card to verify if King's Daughters Clinic physicians are participating providers.


Are King's Daughters Hospital and King's Daughters Clinic owned by the same Corporation?

While King's Daughters Hospital and King's Daughters Clinic share the same name, they are not owned by the same corporation. They are two separate legal entities. Therefore, they may not accept the same insurance and have separate bills and billing procedures. Please check with both facilities to ensure insurance coverage.


What is a release of information and why would I need one?

A release of information is a document signed by the patient, which allows their medical records to be released to other individuals or to themselves. This document is required by law.

Will I have to pay for a copy of my medical records?

If you are retrieving a copy of your medical record for yourself there will be a charge, with the exception of shot records and sports physicals. If you are requesting a copy of your medical record to be sent to another physician there will be no charge.


I am in need of handicapped parking. Where can I park?

King's Daughters Clinic has four handicapped parking slots in the front parking lot and 4 handicapped parking slots in the rear of the building.
